Hello, I'm Brenda Sevcik
"Being a resident of Milton since its inception, I firsthand experience the generous heart and souls of my neighbors. We are people who choose to live a mindful, quiet life in the outskirts of a major metropolitan city, while being involved in civic, philanthropic and community activities. Milton is truly a special place; and as my second-year volunteering for the festival, I’m excited to invite the community to literary events, in the hopes of promoting a life-long love of this special art form. "
MY FAVORITE QUOTE
If we are going to share our heart with the world, let us not be timid or shy; let us boldly declare our passions, inviting others to do the same to make this world a better place.
A CLOSER LOOK
My professional training includes being a certified public accountant, but I retired from that work when my children were born. My true passion, beyond my family and community, is the written word, and sharing that love with others. When we read, we can grow far beyond our physical boundaries, making ourselves feel more complete, with a positive effect on those around us.
As an emerging author, I collaborated with Jeremy Logan on The Trigger Effect, which we are currently promote by dramatizing a few scenes. My current project, The Invisible Thread, intertwines a death row inmate, an idealistic high school teacher, and a restless Catholic priest and they share their stories thereby challenging each others planets of belief. My desire is to share stories of people who are learning about themselves and the world around them, discovering they really can make a difference.
